Could you please let me know if I can install a swivel base for the front driver seat of Toyota Hiace 300, ie confirm that the seat will be able to swivel 180 degrees without the steering wheel stopping the rotation of the seat? I have removed the centre console, and the handbrake has been converted to an e-handbrake switch so this is not in the way.

The swivel can be installed to the drivers seat. However, the clearances are tight and the operation is not straightforward, at least until you get used to it. It is a multi-step operation to turn the seat and clear the steering wheel, but it can certainly be done. Seats cannot be swivelled while occupied.
As you have mentioned, the OEM centre console must be removed to allow the seat swivel to turn without any interference, and if fitting a swivel to the driver side seat, the handbrake must be relocated/converted to a floor type, or push button parking brake.
